Armor Of God
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Joshua 1:5,6,9 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life:...I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee... Be strong and of a good courage:... Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Breastplate-Isaiah 59:17 righteousness-garment. 2 Cor.6:7 knowing truth, pureness, knowledge, long suffering, waiting, watching, kindness. Holy Ghost(listening, doing) unfeigned love, patience. 1 Thess. 5:8 faith, love.
Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Shield- 1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (when we are born of God, except Jesus, by our faith in Him Satan is overcome).
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Imagine you are in a courtroom. You are on trial. The room is full of spectators. Everyone you have ever done anything wrong to is there. They all know what you have done to them. They all know your sins. The Law (the Bible) says that for every one of those sins, you die every single one. God walks into the courtroom, and takes the bench. He is the judge.
We have witnesses, a judge, and the law. Everyone looks at you. There is no reason to go any further. "SENTENCE PASSED, GUILTY." This is where Jesus steps up to the bench and says, "I'll take the rap." You don't have to die; Jesus died on the cross for you. That is justification.
Faith comes from hearing (reading) the word of God, the Bible and understanding what it says. Every single aspect of the gospel is passive. It is done to us. What some of us do is take it on ourselves (our sins) to try to cure ourselves. We have to stop being our own physician. When you need a doctor, you go to the clinic. When you need relief from sin look to the cross, to Jesus. We caused the sin, how do we expect to get rid of it? The only way to get rid of sin is through Jesus, and that was done on the cross. Nothing is more scathing than seeing Jesus hung naked, his body pierced and his blood dripping out for you. NOTHING. What makes us think we're going to do better than that? We Carry sin around and because of that we do the same things over and over like some sort of pattern or habit instead of letting it go. Either we don't want to be healed spiritually or we don't know that Jesus will take our sins away when we ask him. There is NO sin too big for Jesus. He has taken them all. He has taken the rap. Who do we think we are God? We can never make up for all of our sins. Look at it this way. If we do not believe in the blood of Jesus washing away our sins, then Jesus died for nothing, And we are all going to hell. No one is good enough to get into Heaven. No one, "No not one." (Rom 3:10) If you have accepted that Jesus died for your sins, asked Him to forgive you, you have been forgiven. Now it's up to you to either get choked up and confused in the world, by listening to Satan, or start listening to the Holy Spirit directing your life. Being bad will not keep us from Heaven, just from spreading Gods word, and doing things for God. Rejecting Jesus is what keeps us from heaven. Ask yourself are you really having fun living apart from God? Look at the world it's falling apart all around us. Do you really want to be a part of it? Look to Jesus and He will show you how to live for Him!
The Devil is the tempter. He tempted Eve in the garden and Jesus before he began his ministry. (Gen 3, Mt 4) Satan is the accuser. (Job 1:6-12) The devil and Satan are the same but act out different rolls.
Sometimes the Devil is tempting us. How do we fight back? We resist! Stand our ground! Live the word! "Get thee hence." We don't have to put up with those thoughts. Cast them off. Don't sit and mull them over!
Sometimes Satan accuses us, reminds us of past sins, and we think it is our conscious. However, we don't realize that our sins were forgiven on the cross. This can bind us because we still feel guilty. We don't need to because we have already been forgiven! Any thing that does not allow you to have the hope of recovery to the blood of Christ is not from God. There has to be the hope of redemption. Any thing that makes you want to go away from God, is not God. If it is a feeling that wants you to ask for forgiveness and to bring you closer to God than it is from God. God would never drive us away from him. God does not throw past sins at us. Our accuser, Satan, does that. Satan will beat us on the head every chance he gets. Look what you did, Ha Ha you'll never get to heaven. Can you believe you listen to that? That's not God! That's Satan. God loves you; God no longer condemns you! When we figure this out, we can understand how to stop doing the things that are holding us back! The moment we do not understand Satan, then he has won, because we let him drag us through the mud! Don't listen to him! We're not dirty, we're clean! Washed in the blood of the Lamb, our Lord Jesus Christ! (Rev. 12:11)
Realize what Jesus has done for you! Ask Him today to come into your life, ask Him to take away your sin. So that you don't have to go around with it on your back. Jesus loves us! How can we walk in His Light if we are bound up in darkness? He loves each and every one of us, all the same, no matter what we have done!
If you have already accepted Jesus, and you've turned your back on Him because of whatever reason, He's still there, all you have to do is turn around, and He will gather you into his arms, and every angel will rejoice in Heaven. You've come home! Luke 15:11-32
Allow God to protect you with His armor. Do as the Holy Spirit guides you. As you stand on the word of God, you will find you are getting further and further from the clutches of Satan. Stand your ground! Don't fall for his accusations, his temptations. He has no power, unless you let him have it! He has been overcome!
