A Fish Tale

(For Thelma)

          She wasn't really fishing
          He simply left his line,
In all her life she'd never caught
A fish on which to dine

She loved to eat them, I'll agree
          But never had she hooked
          A fish-Her only talent
Was to see that they were cooked

She heard the signalon the line.
It called and called, and called
          So long that finally
          She became appalled.
Suppose he gets away, she thought
          And running to the shore
She saw the monster on the line
About ten pounds or more [or less]
